Passenger traffic at DXB tops 7.9 million in January

Passenger traffic at Dubai International (DXB) exceeded 7.9 million in January, according to the traffic report issued by operator Dubai Airports today.

DXB welcomed a total of 7,960,146 passengers in January, a small reduction of 1% compared to 8,037,008 recorded in January 2017 when passenger volumes were boosted due to Chinese New Year which fell in February this year.

South America was the top region in terms of percentage growth* during the month (22.6%), followed by CIS (19.7%) – with a bulk of the increase resulting from the surge on routes like Moscow, Baku, and Kazan among others, and Africa (6.4%) propelled by the launch of new services by Med View and [...]

Dubai Airports’ new Modular Data Centre Complex a ‘world first’

Dubai Airports today announced the successful completion of the world’s first Tier III certified Modular Data Centre Complex (MDCC)* at Dubai International (DXB) following a tour of the new facility by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Airports.

The project was led by Dubai Airports and delivered by Huawei, a leader in the field, in just over 400 days to coincide with UAE’s month of innovation being observed during February.

Dubai International Airport retains #1 rank for international traffic Caps off 2017 with 88.2 million passengers

Dubai International (DXB) retained its position as the world’s number one airport for international passengers for the fourth consecutive year with annual traffic for 2017 reaching 88.2 million passengers, according to the annual traffic report issued by operator Dubai Airports today.

Propelled by high traffic volumes averaging 7.35 million passengers per month throughout the year, including the record months of January, July and August when traffic breached the 8-million passenger mark, DXB’s traffic reached 88,242,099 passengers for the full year, up 5.5% compared to 83,654,250 passengers recorded during 2016. Dubai Airports strengthens foreign exchange offering with extended Travelex partnership

Dubai Airports, operator of the world’s number one airport for international passengers (DXB) and Travelex, one of the world’s largest currency exchange network, have this week solidified a five-year partnership which will see three additional outlet openings including the first Travelex at Dubai World Central (DWC).

The foreign exchange company, which operates in over 30 countries around the world, reports that Dubai International is home to two of the best performing stores in the world. Global Passenger Traffic – Demand Growth Strengthens in November 2017

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced global passenger traffic results for November 2017 showing continued robust demand. Total revenue passenger kilometers (RPKs) rose 8.0% compared to November 2016, the fastest growth rate in five months and up from a 7.3% year-over-year rise in October. Capacity (available seat kilometers or ASKs) increased by 6.3%, and load factor rose 1.2 percentage points to 80.2%.

Dubai Airports reports continued growth in November 2017

The upward trend in passenger traffic continued at Dubai International (DXB) with the hub welcoming close to 7 million passengers in November 2017, according to the monthly traffic report issued by operator Dubai Airports.

Passenger traffic at DXB reached 6,953,596 in November compared to 6,581,805 recorded in the corresponding month in 2016, an increase of 5.6%. Year to date, passenger numbers at DXB have risen 5.8% to 80,387,442 compared to 75,947,899 recorded during the same time frame in 2016.

Emirates ends 2017 on a high note reaching fleet and product milestones

Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, is concluding another banner year of growth and innovation, marking significant milestones across its fleet, network, and product innovation initiatives, cementing its position as a market leader and industry trendsetter.
